Running back and forth (no stopping) as long as possible on a 20-metre course at a speed that is increased regularly every minute by 0.5km per hour. Starting speed is set at 8.5 km per hour. Speed is adjusted via a pre-recorded tape: at every sound signal, candidates have to touch the 20 metre line and turn around to get to the other line in time for the next sound signal.
